Maybe get him a dog tag necklace or a silver chain? Or even a bracelet? Certain pieces of jewelry you can get engraved to make it even more special. A jewelry based gift going to a guy shows commitment.
Or you could get him a bottle of nice cologne.
Men love to eat. Think about getting him some baked goodies. You could make him either a heart-shaped cake, cupcakes, or cookies and frost them with cute hearts or an “I love you”. Or, you could go to Mrs Fields and get him one of those big heart-shaped cookies. They have Valentine’s Day ones that are cute. Another idea would be to get him chocolate covered strawberries. Those are delicious and romantic! Something else that’d be nice is a Coldstone icecream cake, and you could get something personalized on it.
Get some chocolates, and a special card to go along with whatever you get. In the card you could write the 12 main reasons why you love him.

Depending on what type of a person he is:
If he loves to make out and do dirty things with you, you should dres up in lingerie. Make sure it’s red or has hearts or something. On one of your beds, depending on who’s house, make a giant heart out of roses or petals, something like that. Then lie down in the middle, wait for him to see you, and let the fun begin.
If he is shy, and you two don’t kiss or make out alot, or talk much. Talk to him, and really get to know alot more about him, then somehow, turn the topic into you wanting him. Crawl on top of him, and lean over his face and say, “I want you for Valentine’s Day.” This would be great if he asks you what you want.
Basics:
A CD of a band he likes or one he wants.
A watch.
Cologne.
Shirts that he will actually wear.
A boxed TV show set he likes, or a couple of good DVD’s.
Something you made, like a platter of cookies, with a teddy bear.
A stuffed animal, with a talking card.
Chocolates, sweets, homemade (his fav.) food

i kno this is for Valentine’s Day.
but my idea could be used for pretty much anything.
for Christmas i went to a craft store, and bought a decent sized handmade box with a lid that latched, got some paintbrushes and some paint in his favorite colors. then painted his name on top of the lid, and on all for sides of the box itself i painted Chinese symbols that said “Hope” “Strength” “Love” and “Peace”. then i filled the box wit his favorite (and mine) cologne and just other little things. he really loved it. and it’s wasn’t even that expensive. he’d told me after he’d gotten it he was like “baby, thank you so much. i love this. nobody has ever done anything like this for me. thank you.” and it made me really happy. =) lol. so maybe that would work for you too. =)

Chocolate/nice card/something small and personal/spend the day doing something he loves.
If he is the romantic type write some things you love about him.
