I found this book to be both informative and engaging. I was more curious with the turn of each new page as to what money saving suggestions would turn up next! Well written, highly recommended, and a must-read for today’s tough economy.

In this economy it is important to me to save as much as I can. My income is sliding and my expenses are not. I feel very fortunate to have found this very helpful book. I never really saved coupons before, except if they were really convienient and I could use them immediately. I usually would lose them or let them expire. Martin Sloane has taught me the value of a file system. I am sure my savings will continue to grow.
This book is well written. I am sure others will enjoy also enjoy the letters from other consumers. Check out his website _[...] for more helpful hints.

The Book entitled “BOGO” … stimulated my desire to use coupons at the grocery store. I was always too busy, too rushed, and thought it was just not worth the effort. Now, I approach clipping coupons, matching with items I need, and keeping a record of my savings as a profitable game (see how to play the game in the book). BOGO became a challenge of how to increase your savings by using your analytical skills and taking the time to stretch your money. What started out as a shopper’s book, became a mind challenger. The purpose of the book is to help you save money, however, the tone of the book made me think about more than just money…I thought about people. I do use a portion of my savings to buy extravagant food items, that during this time of financial challenge, I would have to forgo. I reward myself with a “wish item” every time I have save $10.00. But, BOGO also taught me how to “buy one- get one for free” so I am able to provide supplies to a local food bank that is struggling to keep its doors open. I never realized that the savings from my coupons could be used to help others. I highly recommend this book to potentially challenge and change your attitude about the skill of clipping and using coupons as a form of social action and personal gratification.

In only one week of owning BOGO, it is getting dog eared with use. In this awful economy Sloane’s intelligent, humorous wisdom is saving people hundreds of dollars. I have never used coupons and because of BOGO I am starting now. Chapter 1 itself is a gold mine of information; the entire book offers readers’ responses and resultant savings from all around the country.
BOGO is more than just telling us to use coupons: we learn a step by step HOW TO. And then in Chapter 4 Sloane walks us down the aisles of our grocery to further assist us in our quest for savings. On page Page 54 Slaone writes: “Look for sale info at the store’s entrance….Develop the habit of scanning every shelf. ASK store managers and associates for help – become a SMART SHOPPER.” I am implementing Sloane’s advice and it’s working! THANKS so much for this very timely book!
